1) Birdeatsbaby – Incitatus Brighton based dark cabaret outfit Birdeatsbaby have just released this BRILLIANT new video, and like the last video for “Feast Of Hammers” it’s deliciously spooky. laura likes to… :::

Posted 16 May 2008 in Ramblings

I never get tagged with memes and such (which is probably for the best since I’d usually never have time to respond) but I was just reading Anna’s blog and loved the idea of the meme she got tagged with recently. I’m in the market for some pointless fun to cheer me up after an emotionally tough week, so here goes:

All you have to do is type “[your name] likes to” in to a search engine and copy and paste the results, here goes:

Laura likes to be admired.
Yes I suppose I do, I’m not ashamed. Don’t we all?

Laura likes to watch the boys play. Actually, I think she likes to watch anybody play, as long as one of them is tied up.
This is not the time or place for naughty fetishes, but I did lift an eyebrow and smile when I read this one.

Laura likes to mix things up.
I like this one too. It sounds carefree, something I hope to be again sometime soon.

Laura likes to reminisce about times spent gesticulating at others from the driver’s seat of the car she used to own when she was solvent.
The only time I owned a car I wasn’t particularly solvent, actually. It only cost £195 from the side of the road in Morden, and was a marvellous machine: a 1987 Ford Capri, black. I was a bit crap at driving it, partly because it was so very long and partly because I had no idea what to do with a manual choke. Cue lots of breakdowns through a bitter winter.

Laura likes to dance and she does it so gracefully across the living room floor.
Yes she does, but no she doesn’t. Dancing is most definitely not a graceful thing that I do. Think Chandler from Friends x 5 with an even more goofy, self-satisfied smile to accompany all the lumbering about: brilliant fun but ultimately nothing I’m going to win prizes or admirers for.

Laura likes to wear pastels.
She most certainly does not!

Laura likes to curl her luscious long mane into well formed stunning spiral curls.
I wish! I’ve always wanted long hair, ever since I sort of had mid-length hair then cut it off aged 16 to Sinead O’Connor-esque proportions, or probably more accurately Dolores O’Riordan. My hair is not luscious, long or in any way spiral.

Laura likes to read dog books.
Absolutely true. Recent faves are It’s Me Or The Dog and Mother Knows Best.

Laura likes to go in-line skating for fun.
Well, after going to all the trouble of taking a rollerblade course last year I really should get in to it again now the weather’s improving. Scabeous knees, come on down!

That was fun – now it’s your turn :)
