How silly of me to think getting home would mean quiet times! Since the tour finished I have travelled to Suffolk, Gloucester, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Preston and Stoke on Trent, playing and filming and visiting and all sorts of very enjoyable things.

London has been fun too. Although I missed out on being a marshal because I was away all summer and couldn’t attend training, I enjoyed watching the London Freewheel participants whizz past me as I made my way towards the river ferry for an afternoon out, and then last Friday I attended the last ever Social Media Cafe at the Coach & Horses before its move to the prestigious ICA next week. A photo of us all went up on TechCrunch, no less! Yes, that is me with a glass of champagne in my hand. At 11 in the morning, yes.

All this activity meant it took until yesterday to grab enough time to make a start on my fabulous new home studio:

This is where music will soon be made, oh yes. It’s going to be a novelty working in a separate room to where I sleep, but one I have been looking forward to for years. Benji’s adjusted very well to being back to London and has been making himself at home in my studio, so I won’t be wanting for company in here:

I’ve been listening to some great music since I’ve been back, do listen to Bowerbirds, My Brightest Diamond and Emiliana Torrini if you get a moment, you won’t regret it…

What’s new with you?

what a great picture of you with champagne at 11am. just use the excuse that you’re still mentally in a different time zone, and there it’s 1am. :-) that usually works for me :-P

and i can’t wait to see pictures of your studio when it’s all done. i must say having a separate studio/office is no short of awesome. enjoy it!
