red, redder, reddest :::

Posted 31 Oct 2008 in Music,NaNoWriMo,News,Photo Post,Press,Ramblings

It’s been a busy day so far. A nice frosty walk in the park this morning was marred only slightly by two dogs launching themselves at Benji in a non-playing manner and scaring the crap out of him but redeemed when we met other, more pleasant dogs (and owners) later on. Then it was home to exciting email news that MASHitUP is ‘Record of the Day’ in an industry bulletin – go The Young Punx!

Next it was time to perform emergency hair dye surgery to save my fading red locks in time for tomorrow’s performance at the EA Games event in Trafalgar Square. After my recent poor experience at a local salon – which will remain unnamed unless they decide not to offer me a refund – I will be doing it myself from now on, thank you. Yes, red fades quickly, but I don’t expect to have to visit the hairdresser every week! I just can’t read that many magazines…

In other news, NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow, and after the rest of my busy busy day which will include a meeting, some filming at a very cool-sounding Day Of The Dead party and some scary-film watching with friends followed by an early soundcheck in Trafalgar Square in the morning, it’ll take all my strength and determination to make the first day count. Writing 1800 words of my book instead of, I don’t know, curling up in front of the DVD player wrapped in a blanket all day might be a struggle, but I think it’ll be worth it.

    May I recommend using Special Effects at home?

    You start with clean dry bleached hair and then put on the Special Effects for 45 mins to an hour (with heat if you want), wash it out and the best part is that it stays in and bright for over a month.

    My salon has switched over to it for folks who want Bright, as none of the other colors can compete.

    When I put “Deep Purple” in my hair, it lasts for a month as purple and then a good month plus as pink. Then folks think that I am changing my hair frequently. ha… ;oD

    Jen thank you so much! I’ve just ordered some on your recommendation and am very excited to have non-drip-fade hair soon :) How are things with you?
