wossy, gaza and tom cruise :::
This week has been cardio-, meeting- and cinema-tastic (see Milk, see Milk, see Milk!), underpinned by the usual banging-of-head-against-the-wall at the world’s inability to act decently, or even logically.
You’ve all seen this by now, right?
There’s a lot of opinion on the subject online, but let me direct you towards a particularly eloquent and moving piece by the frontman of one of my favourite bands, Djevara, who gives an interesting view of the recent protests in London. Read it here.
Did you know you can give money to the Disasters Emergency Committee right here? – why not give the price of a pint or of a breakfast from your local cafe and cut back this weekend? I guarantee it’ll make you feel good. “But we’re in a recession”, I hear you cry. Yup, but we’ve got roofs and windows, and food in the fridge too.
This whole episode is yet another BBC debacle making me damn happy I don’t pay a licence fee – and yes, not having a TV is worth it just to put two fingers up at them. I did watch @wossy’s brilliant return to the small screen last week on iPlayer though and was curiously drawn in by Tom Cruise – he’s quite entertaining when not spouting insane religious mumbo jumbo.
And finally…after a ridiculous, annoying and ultimately fruitless shopping experience with the unreliable GAK (avoid buying from them like the plague!!), lovely Fender came to the rescue this week and my ‘69 Thinline turned up on Monday. She’s a little beauty and I can’t wait to start recording with her next week.
How are you this weekend?
