hotel living, köln & dizzee punx :::

Posted 20 Sep 2009 in Music,News,Photo Post,Travel

So I’ve pretty much been living in hotels all week and though I enjoy being in new places, eating buffet breakfasts and not having to make my own bed, I’m looking forward to getting home this evening to my lovely man and my lovely dog. I’m lucky that both rooms this week have been furnished with super comfy beds and power showers, as a regime of snatched sleep combined with pounding hot water is the only thing that’s kept me going through ever changing time zones and a busy schedule.

As soon as we hit Köln yesterday I dragged myself out for a run and though it was horrible, hard and painful at first I felt amazing afterwards (only six days til the big race – please sponsor me!). Not only that, but I found a park I would never have seen otherwise, filled with mostly metal sculptures of all kinds, set high up looking out over the glittering Rhine. As I jogged back out of the leafy shade of the park in to the glorious sunshine I felt a very warm and happy glow – those are the memories I take with me from my travels, you can keep your monuments!

Last night’s Young Punx Warsteiner collaboration show at the brilliantly named Vulkanhalle was absolutely jam packed and we all had a great time on stage. It’s always great to get back together with such talented bandmates, and it’s very cool to be watching three of them impress as Dizzee Rascal’s current band – you can see them performing on Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge right here and they’ll be on this week’s Jools Holland too. Go the Punx boys!!
