FIRST: I wanted to remind you all I will be appearing not once but twice at this weekend’s Freedom Festival. Set over two days and two venues (Krankenhouse in Crouch End and The Foundry in Shoreditch), the festival is being staged by the powerhouse behind Djevara Music and the Genin Lives! events to stand up for civil liberties, celebrate independent music and have a great big party. Expect a plethora of underground bands and solo musicians, spoken word performances and art, with entry by donation on Saturday and free on Sunday. The full lineup and address information can be found here. I hope to see you there!

SECOND: I got interviewed by Blown Magazine recently and the feature is now online here. My favourite question was “Your music kicks ass in the face. That is, of course, if asses had faces. How did you get started in this lovely mess we call music?”. Nice.

THIRD: Redroche video update – exciting!!

PS – legs feeling much better now, thank you, though I did convince myself this morning I’d sprained my right foot. Probably haven’t.

I felt that I had to comment on your interview with Blown Magazine; the whole kickin an ass in the face is too incredible. Was the interviewer from America’s deep south, or high on Ali G? Was s/he referring, in a cool slang-style, to some category of donkey being assaulted? Whatever, you handled the questions with real skill.

    Hope the gigs go well!

    Best wishes,

Thanks Christian! I quite liked how the questions were phrased actually, it’s refreshing to get something outside of the standard “what are your influences” type of thing. I’m not sure where the interviewer is from but I get the impression they’re either not aware of asses being an animal or it just never occurred to them…for the record, as an ardent vegetarian I do not advocate kicking donkeys in the face!!!

    Thanks for reading :)
