gigs, homemade sleeves and single launch :::
So, how was your Easter? I spent three days in Brixton learning how to make clothes from a pattern and concocting a charming slouchy dress complete with sleeves! It was testing at times but I am pretty confident I can carry on and make some great pieces for my forthcoming video shoots, gigs and general skipping around town. I will finish my dress this weekend and post a photo.
On Sunday evening I was invited to play at Round Midnight in Angel with my supremely talented solo bass playing friend Steve Lawson. It was the first time I'd ever been to a jazz and blues bar, let alone graced a stage at one, and I was grateful for the warm welcome me and my overdriven guitar received. Steve and I did a couple of covers together too, including a looptastic version of ace Throwing Muses song 'Counting Backwards'. [See below for the original, it's so so good]
This week I'm playing at The Lido Cafe in Herne Hill, along with another local band Tiny Birds. Come down! More info on the Facebook event page right here.
And finally...next Monday marks the launch of my first single off the forthcoming album complete with video, photos, documentary and whatever else I can drum up between now and then. "Let This Be" will be available from iTunes et al soon but will be available direct from my brand new website from Monday. Tell your friends!
